Shekar Eye Hospital successfully organized a Glaucoma Awareness Walkathon 2026 with the participation of doctors, hospital staff, and nursing college students. The event was conducted to spread awareness about glaucoma and emphasize the importance of regular eye check-ups for early detection and treatment.

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of irreversible vision loss worldwide and is often known as the “silent thief of sight.” In many cases, the disease progresses without noticeable symptoms in the early stages. This makes early diagnosis and routine eye screening extremely important to prevent permanent vision damage.

As part of the awareness initiative, doctors, healthcare professionals, and students walked together holding banners and placards to educate the public about glaucoma prevention and eye health. The participation of nursing college students added great value to the event, highlighting the role of future healthcare professionals in spreading awareness about eye diseases and preventive care.

The walkathon demonstrated Shekar Eye Hospital’s commitment to community health education, preventive ophthalmic care, and public awareness about eye diseases. Through initiatives like these, the hospital continues to encourage people to prioritize regular eye examinations and timely medical consultation.

Shekar Eye Hospital remains dedicated to providing advanced eye care services, glaucoma screening, and expert ophthalmology treatment to help protect vision and improve the quality of life for patients.

The hospital extends its sincere appreciation to all the doctors, staff members, and nursing students who participated and made the Glaucoma Awareness Walkathon a meaningful and successful initiative.
