He completed his post graduation in Ophthalmology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, (AIIMS) New Delhi. He also did further Senior Registrar ship at AIIMS, New Delhi in Glaucoma, Squint and Neuro Ophthalmology, Subspecialties apart from Cataract training. He has presented many papers and scientific publications in various National and International Conferences apart from attending them personally.

He is very keen in clinical research activities and has published articles in various national and international journals. He is also involved in teaching the post graduate interns in the hospital. His hobbies include reading books, listening to music and participating in sports activities.

Won quiz award in “Archives of Ophthalmology”, USA journal. Won the Delhi Ophthalmological Society, “DOS quiz Winner Trophy” for the year 2004. Stood first in the ORA annual quiz for the year 2004 held at RP centre, AIIMS, New Delhi and won Prof L.P. Agarwal Trophy.

Short term clinical trainee in Vitreo-retina & Uvea unit at R.P.Center, AIIMS, New Delhi, specializing in vitreo-retina, posterior segment lasers, RD surgeries, pars plana vitrectomy, Lensectomy & VR surgeries along with post-op care and their follow-up

Teaching Experience:

  • Involved in training of junior residents (PGs), which involves supervising the history taking and teaching them the techniques of ophthalmic examination (especially squint, orthoptics, and glaucoma), helping in improving their clinical acumen. Assist them in doing ocular surgery, (including phacoemulsification) and other major & minor procedures
  • Involved in medical students teaching which essentially involves supervising the history taking and minor procedures.
  • Also involved in training of optometrists, which involves teaching them theoretical and practical aspects of optics and refraction and common ocular conditions.
  • Presented seminars on various topics in ophthalmology as part of post graduate teaching curriculum.
  • Presently, In-charge of CME activities at Shekar Nethralaya, involved in teaching PGs (DNB) in the hospital.
