Post-Graduate Program: DNB

Shekar Eye Hospital offers Post-Graduate Program (DNB) in Ophthalmology by the NBE – National board of Examinations (www.natboard.edu.in).

Shekar Eye Hospital has acquired latest technology and equipment to serve patients from across the globe. The selected candidates will undergo extensive training under the guidance of pool of talented and experienced doctors.

The Candidate’s initial posting will be in outpatient department to get trained in visual assessment methods, refraction and spectacle prescriptions. In the second phase of the program, the candidates undergo training in specialisation areas including Cataract, Cornea, Retina, Oculoplasty, Uvea, Glaucoma, Pediatric ophthalmology, Community ophthalmology, refractive lens surgery and more.

Primary DNB : Candidate must have passed MBBS, with 1 year rotatory internship training completion and must have registered with Medical council of India or its state branches. Candidate should have passed CET conducted by the NBE. Program duration for Primary DNB is 3 years.

Secondary DNB: Candidate must have passed University Diploma in Ophthalmology (DO) and should have passed PDCET conducted by the NBE. Program duration for Secondary DNB is 2 years.

Admission Period: Every year in the month of January.

Selection: Admitted as per the allotment letter given by the DNB Board.

Fees: Rs.70,000/- Per Year

Stipend: As per the NBE directives.
